Mildred R. (Steele) Campbell

Mildred R. (Steele) Campbell, age 77, of Seymour, Indiana, passed away at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour. She was a member of the Seymour Community Church. Mildred worked at Domestic Laundry, worked in the laundry department at Knights Inn, was employed at Seymour Shirt Factory and was also a babysitter. Born on July 13, 1937, in Seymour, she was the daughter of William and Hazel Ross Steele, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Lawrence Campbell and he also preceded her in death. Survivors include one brother, Ronald Steele of Crothersville; one sister, Mary Elsie Wheeler (Greg Baker) of Seymour; one sister-in-law, Opha Steele of Seymour; nieces and nephews, Dexter Steele, Teresa Joetta (Steele) Wilson and Leandra (Steele) Craig (Curtis Ball) all of Seymour; four great nieces; two great nephews and several great great nieces and great great nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by three brothers, William "Lum" Steele, Kenny Ross and Alan Steele; and one sister, Betty Meadors. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 9, 2015 at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, with Rick Prather officiating. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, on Monday, February 9, 2015. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown. Memorials may be given to Schneck Medical Center Hospice, American Heart Association and the American Diabetes Association.
