Mona Mae Wray, age 82, of Seymour, passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Wray was a member of the Houston Christian Church, and she was a homemaker. She was also a member of the Senior Citizen Center in Freetown and the Hoosier Hills Treasure Hunters. Mona loved spending time with her family, especially traveling the country and gardening with them. She also loved her animals. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, collecting, metal detecting, and listening to music.
Born on November 8, 1938, at her home in Jackson County, she was the daughter of Kenneth and Cora Kindred Jones, both of whom preceded her in death. On June 1, 1956, at St. Paul Christian Church, she married Kenneth Lee Wray and he survives in Seymour.
Survivors also include one son, Lawrence (Terrie) Wray of Seymour; three daughters: Angela (Ron) Angel of Seymour, Carol (Tim) Fox of Elizabethtown, and Linda Gotkin of Indianapolis; two sisters: June Rosier of Michigan and Berta (Bob) Baker of Seymour; nine grandchildren: Kristen (Wes) Mallett, Ryne (Katie) Angel, Dustin (Mary) Wray, Andrea (Steve) Gombos, Nathan Dutcher, Carley (John) Weddle, Kenneth Lodestein, George Lodestein, and Jonah Gotkin; two great-grandchildren: Lucy Wray and Teddy Angel; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Mona was also preceded in death by one son, Dennis Wray; a daughter at birth; brother-in-law, Jack Rosier; and three grandsons: Derek Lodestein, Patrick Wayne Wray, and Nicholas Allen Wray.
Funeral services for Mona Mae Wray will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 2, 2021, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, with Pastor Ron Plummer officiating. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 2, 2021, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc.
Interment will be at Liberty Cemetery, Norman.
Memorials may be given to Liberty Cemetery.
