Nancy Ann "Nanny" Fox

July 8, 1956 — June 25, 2025

Nancy Ann "Nanny" Fox, age 68, a lifelong resident of Jackson County, passed away early Wednesday morning, June 25, 2025, at the University of Louisville Hospital surrounded by her loving family, and she was welcomed into Heaven with the biggest hug from her great-grandson, Maverick.
Nancy was a faithful and dedicated member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour, since 1975. She was baptized in Christ on December 20, 1975, and confirmed in faith on December 21, 1975, at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Faith was a guiding presence throughout Nancy's life. A devoted member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, she served her church community in many ways, including on the Immanuel Lutheran School Board, the Faith in Our Future Campaign, and the landscaping committee. She was also instrumental in bringing the Stephen Ministry program to the church, extending her spirit of care and compassion to those in need.
Mrs. Fox was employed with Cummins Engine Co. for 43 years, retiring in 2020. She also held several other roles throughout her life, including work at Montgomery, Elsner & Pardieck in Seymour.
In addition to her professional career, Nancy found great purpose and joy in farm life, working faithfully alongside her beloved husband and family, as she absolutely loved the outdoors. She especially had a passion for bringing food to the field during long workdays and sitting outside on the back porch with Charlie overlooking their fields. Equally important to Nancy was her yard. She took great pride in keeping it perfectly maintained, finding peace and satisfaction in its upkeep.
Family was the heart of Nancy's life. She found her greatest joy in the moments when everyone was together, whether during everyday visits or on special family vacations. She especially treasured her recent travels across the states with her grandson, Eli, and his hockey team. Nancy would drop everything to be there for her family, no matter what they needed. Her love was shown in countless thoughtful ways, like always having frozen sweet treats ready in her freezer and her famous brownies that everyone looked forward to eating.
Nancy had a deep love for animals. She adored her dogs and found great joy in raising chickens. She was adamant about raising her own hens to ensure her entire family had fresh, homegrown eggs.
Nancy was known for her deep roots in the community, her warmth, and her unwavering dedication to her family and farm life. Her sudden passing is a profound loss to her family, her friends, and the Seymour community she called home all her life.
Known for her particularness and overwhelming generosity, Nancy was immaculate in everything she did, from the way she cared for her home and land, to
the love and attention she gave to her family and friends. Her quiet strength and strong principles left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Born on July 8, 1956, in Seymour, Nancy was the daughter of Albert and Betty (Pulliam) Terkhorn, both of whom preceded her in death. On March 20, 1976, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour, she married Charles Fox, and he survives in Seymour.
