Nora Josephine Roush, age 97, Norman, passed away at 5:45 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, at Indiana University Health, Bedford. Nora was a member of Fairview Community Church. During World War II, she worked for General Electric. She later worked in the food industry. She enjoyed reading, doing crafts, gardening, canning, quilting and organizing family reunions. Born October 17, 1916, at Norman, she was the daughter of Hugh and Josie Baker Morrison, both of whom preceded her in death. On May 19, 1959, in Indianapolis, she married Delbert Roush, who preceded her in death. Survivors include two daughters, Wanda Watson, Brownstown, and Ruth Klopp, Zionsville; one daughter-in-law, Patty Cummings, Greenwood; one brother, Harrell Morrison, Norman; one sister, Minnie Duncan, Norman; 19 grandchildren; several great- -grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Ralph Cummings; two sisters, Edna Sovern and Inez Speer; three brothers, Charlie, Millard and Albert Morrison; one half-sister, Alice Sprankle; and three step-daughters, Marjorie Sinclair, Mary Cummings, and Florence Short. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Spurgeon Funeral Home Inc., Brownstown, with Lindy Hopkins officiating. Interment will be at the Guthrie Creek Cemetery, Lawrence County. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Fairview Community Church.
