Norma “Jeanne” Culp, age 89, of Seymour, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, April 30, 2026, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Culp was a devoted member of Rockford Community Church for more than 70 years, serving as the church pianist for five decades. She was also deeply committed to the church’s Women of Faith group.
Jeanne loved her family dearly, especially cherishing the time she spent with her grandchildren. She was an enthusiastic sports fan, and she enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles.
Born on October 19, 1936, at her home in Seymour, Jeanne was the daughter of Curtis Edwin and Doris Elizabeth (Baxter) Findley, both of whom preceded her in death. On July 2, 1955, at Rockford Methodist Church, she married Donald Culp, and he preceded her in death on November 13, 2023.
Survivors include three daughters: Dee Plumer of Seymour, Bridget White of Seymour, and Erin Rantanen of Gilbert, Arizona; two sisters: Mary Groce of Seymour, and Mary Lou (Terry) White of Mississippi; seven grandchildren: John (Shauna) Plumer, Brian Plumer, Tyler (Nicole) Plumer, Brittany (Josh) Weatherbee, Brooke (Tim) Northam, Susanna (Tyne) Nickel, and Rebekka Rantanen; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Culp was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Esko Rantanen; sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Max Schafstall; and brother-in-law, Tom Groce.
Funeral services for Norma “Jeanne” Culp will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Rockford Community Church with Pastor Dawn Barnes officiating. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Rockford Community Church.
Memorials may be given to Rockford Community Church, Women of Faith.
