Patsy Ann Hanner, age 76, of Freetown, passed away on Friday afternoon, August 29, 2025, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour.
Patsy was a lifelong member of Kurtz Church of the Nazarene, and she also attended Freetown Church of the Nazarene. Patsy had a deep love for the Lord and a strong desire to grow in her knowledge of Him.
Mrs. Hanner devoted many years of service as a janitor for the Brownstown Community School system.
Patsy cherished spending time with her family, and she particularly enjoyed dining out with her beloved husband.
Born on February 26, 1949, in Clearspring, Patsy was the daughter of Thomas and Stella (Mikels) Charles, both of whom preceded her in death. On April 26, 1969, in Kurtz, she married Nolan Keith Hanner, and he preceded her in death on June 30, 2025.
Survivors include one daughter, Elizabeth Stella Spellman; two grandchildren: Christopher Spellman, Jr. and Christina Elise Tucker; two great-grandchildren: Johnny Tucker, Jr. and Elizabeth Ann Tucker; two sisters: Myrtle Edwards and Carol Nowland; sisters-in-law: Janet Charles and Audrey Charles; and brother-in-law, Norris Smith.
Patsy was also preceded in death by one sister, Betty Smith; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Peggy Charles; brothers: Thomas Charles and Ted Charles; brother-in-law, Noble Nowland; brother and sister-in-law, Monta and Dina Charles; and brother-in-law, Denver Edwards.
Funeral services for Patsy Ann Hanner will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Kurtz Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Floyd Fisher officiating. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Kurtz Church of the Nazarene.
Interment will follow at Kurtz Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Kurtz Church of the Nazarene or Kurtz Cemetery.
