Patty I. Blann, age 90, of Brownstown, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Hoosier Health & Living, Brownstown, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Blann was a member of Brownstown Christian Church for over 20 years.
Patty was a 1952 graduate of Carlisle High School. She was a bookkeeper with Baltic Mills Elevator and Cargill Grain for 15 ½ years.
Patty's love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren knew no bounds, and they brought her endless joy. She and Bill cherished their time camping at Sullivan Lake.
Quilting was one of Patty's greatest joys. She poured her heart into every stitch, creating pieces that will be treasured forever. Music was another of her many gifts—whether playing the piano, organ, or a variety of other instruments, she brought each note to life with passion.
Patty also found great happiness in her garden, where she lovingly tended her flowers and plants. Whether through music, stitching, or gardening, she brought beauty and warmth into the lives of everyone around her.
Born on July 7, 1934, in Carlisle, Patty was the daughter of Everet G. and Margaret Land Page, both of whom preceded her in death. On May 17, 1952, at Shaker Prairie Christian Church in Carlisle, she married Billie "Bill" Blann, and he preceded her in death on March 31, 2022. After their marriage, they lived in Bruceville for several years before moving to Brownstown.
Survivors include one son, Allen Joe Blann of Brownstown; two grandchildren: Daniel (Angela) Blann, Alicia (Ed) Hughes; seven great-grandchildren: Jacob Blann, Brady Blann, Chase Blann, Chloe (Cade) Suber, Carl Russell, Patrick Hughes, and Connor Hughes; one daughter-in-law, Patty Blann; one brother, Brad (Judy) Page of Carlisle; and one sister-in-law, Janet Page of Carlisle.
Besides her parents and her husband, Patty was also preceded in death by one son, Steven Blann; one grandchild, Michelle Russell; one sister and brother-in-law, Helen (Stanley) Arnett; and one brother, Emil Page.
Funeral services for Patty I. Blann will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, with Pastor Ed Owens officiating. Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc.
A Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. at Shaker Prairie Church, Shepherd Cemetery, in Carlisle.
Memorials may be given to Shaker Prairie Church, Shepherd Cemetery.
