Raymond Eugene Planck, age 88, of Seymour, passed away on Thursday evening, October 2, 2025, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour, with his loved ones by his side. A beloved husband to Carolyn, God called Eugene to come home. Eugene left his physical body, to be absent from the body and be present with the Lord.
Mr. Planck was a member of Harvest Church.
Eugene began his working career at Irwin Shoe Factory, where he was employed for many years. He later spent 21 years at Cummins Engine Company before retiring. Throughout his life, he was deeply involved in farming, working alongside his son. He was also an important part of the family business, E & C Planck Septic Service, where he worked with his wife and son. Eugene loved his family and took great pride in working beside them throughout his life.
Eugene had a deep passion for working outdoors and was an avid fan of football and basketball. He also had a great love for his tractors.
Born on October 19, 1936, in Seymour, Eugene was the son of Raymond Elvin and Bonnie (Trowbridge) Planck, both of whom preceded him in death. On July 6, 1957, at Seymour Christian Church, he married Carolyn M. Bollman, and she survives in Seymour.
Survivors also include one son, Ricky E. (Tracy) Planck of Seymour; one daughter, Debora J. Planck of Seymour; sister-in-law, Rose Planck of Hayden; and sister-in-law, Jo DeRosa.
Mr. Planck was also preceded in death by one brother, Robert Dale Planck.
Funeral services for Raymond Eugene Planck will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, with Pastor Gary Deyer and Pastor Larry Robbins officiating. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc.
Interment will follow at Chestnut Ridge Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Harvest Church.
