Rebecca Lynn Gordon, age 71, of Clearwater, Florida, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 21, 2025, at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Florida.
Mrs. Gordon attended Christian Church in Largo, Florida.
Rebecca proudly graduated from the I.U. School of Nursing and dedicated her career to caring for others. She served for many years as a registered nurse for Dr. Kenneth Bobb and Dr. Walters in Seymour before later relocating to Florida. Known for her gentle heart and compassionate touch, she made a lasting impact on countless patients who cherished her care.
Rebecca held her family close to her heart, with a special fondness for spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and traveling alongside her husband. She also took pleasure in creating floral arrangements, photographing moments, and dining out. Rebecca had a passion for fresh flowers and was an avid reader and an excellent cook.
Born on July 9, 1954, in Bermuda, Rebecca was the daughter of Dale Wesley and Marilyn (Lockman) Bowman, both of whom preceded her in death. On January 9, 1999, at Christian Church in Largo, Florida, she married Andrew Gordon, and he survives in Pinellas Park, Florida.
Survivors also include one daughter, Natalie (Donnie) Scroggin of Hanover; grandchildren, Jathan Silvers, Zoe Rohde, Brianna Scroggin, and Nicholas Scroggin; great-grandchildren: Gracelynn Brock and Carson Rohde; one brother, Bryan Bowman (Melissa Krawchison) of Seymour; and two sisters: Beth Tulledge of Indianapolis, and Betsy Bryant of Seymour.
Rebecca was also preceded in death by one son, Nathan Chambers.
Funeral services for Rebecca Lynn Gordon will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, with Robin Everhart officiating. Friends may call from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the service at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc.
Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society, Central Christian Church in Seymour, or Girls' Inc. of Jackson County.
