Rickey Lee Hawkins, age 71, of Norman, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2021, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour.
Mr. Hawkins attended Brownstown Nazarene Church.
Rickey was a man of many talents. He was a member of the United States Army, a member of the Norman Conservation Club, and he was a carpenter for Skaggs Builders for many years.
Mr. Hawkins loved traveling to Kentucky to visit with his family and friends. He also enjoyed barbecuing for his family, boating, reading and studying genealogy (his family tree), attending car shows, and playing with air brush painting, but fishing was the love of his life.
Born on November 3, 1950, in Indianapolis, Rickey was the son of Grover Lee and Deloris Prewitt Hawkins, both of whom preceded him in death. On April 6, 1985, at Medora Baptist Church, he married Sandra Kay McGuire and she survives in Norman.
Survivors also include two sons: Aaron Lee Hawkins of Louisville, and Koty Allen Hawkins of Brownstown; and sister-in-law, Nancy (Lutes) Hawkins.
Besides his parents, Rickey was also preceded in death by his brother, Donald Hawkins; and sister, Dana Zaring.
Funeral services for Rickey Lee Hawkins be conducted at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at the funeral home.
Military honors will be presented by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled American Veterans 47 and Vietnam Vets 7.
Interment will be at Liberty Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Donor's Choice.
