Rodney Sue (Fisher) Callahan, age 89, of Medora, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Callahan was a devoted lifetime member of Liberty Christian Church and a dedicated homemaker, whose unwavering faith and love for her family touched the lives of all who knew her. Sue loved and cherished children, always bringing joy to their lives. She was especially famous for serving them ice cream cones, a simple act that brought smiles to their faces. Sue also had a passion for collecting family pictures.
Born on February 17, 1935, at her home in Jackson County, Sue was the daughter of Luke and Ruby (Cummings) Fisher, both of whom preceded her in death. On August 13, 1960, in Clearspring, she married Russell Callahan, and he survives in Medora.
Survivors also include one son, Brian Callahan of Norman; two daughters: Darlene (Larry) Fox of Norman, and Sandra Harrell of Norman; two brothers: Danny (Kay) Fisher and Dwight Fisher; five grandchildren: Joe (Kim) Mickels, Travis (Kim) Fox, Lacy (David) Reynolds, Mackenzie (Noah) Cutter, and Rob (Becca) Fox; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Sue was also preceded in death by three brothers: David Fisher, Donnie Fisher, and Dean Fisher; and four sisters: Norma Lou Miller, Joy Fish, June Hoaks, and Faye Brittain.
Funeral services for Rodney Sue Callahan will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 4, 2024, at Liberty Christian Church with Pastor Ron Plummer officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 4, 2024, at Liberty Christian Church.
Interment will follow at Liberty Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Liberty Cemetery.
