Sandra Lee Staley, age 76, of Seymour, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Sandra had a deep faith and was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Vallonia for many years.
Sandra deeply loved Jesus and held her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends close to her heart, cherishing every moment shared with them. She had a passion for volunteering at Brown Elementary School and her church, finding joy in helping others. She cared deeply for her dogs, Nikki and Dottie, and enjoyed exploring yard sales, visiting flea markets, and reading. She also dedicated many years to her work as a home health care provider.
Born on March 11, 1948, in St. Louis, Missouri, Sandra was the daughter of John Lee and Dorthy (Stinnet) Sheperd, both of whom preceded her in death. In St. Louis, Missouri, she married Thomas Joseph Farace, Sr., who also preceded her in death. She later married Roy Matthews, followed by Steven Staley, both of whom preceded her in death as well.
Survivors include two sons: Tom Farace of St. Louis, Missouri, and John Farace of Brownstown; four daughters: Renee (Ric) Decker of Camby, Shelly Farace of Brownstown, Cara Farace of Brownstown, and Nancy Farace of Brownstown; two brothers: John Sheperd of Wentzville, Missouri, and Jerry (Marla) Sheperd of St. Charles, Missouri; two sisters: Ruthie (Dan) Bayer and Dorthy Sheperd; grandchildren: Joey Farace, Britni (Sean Phillips) Farace, John, Jr. (Amber) Farace, Christina (Eli) Farace, Elizabeth (Nick) Farace, Kaniya Farace, Aniah Decker, Haven Farace, and Giavana Farace; great-grandchildren: Vinatieri Farace, Kayden Farace, Nicholas Farace, and Theodore Farace; and dear friends: Brenda, Toni, and Ruby.
Besides her parents, Sandra was also preceded in death by one son, Ron Farace; one brother, Robert Sheperd; and four sisters: Patricia Sheperd, Katherine Mayberry, Debra Sheperd, and Terry Lowery.
Funeral services for Sandra Lee Staley will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Friday, December 20, 2024, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, with Pastor Terry Fordice officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 noon on Friday, December 20, 2024, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc.
Interment will follow at Houston Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church of Vallonia.
