Sara Jean Warren, age 81, of Brownstown, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 11, 2020, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Sara was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. Her smile was contagious, and she was always full of life. Sara was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a dedicated IU sports fan and loved attending games with her husband. She never missed a Brownstown sporting event over the years watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play. Mrs. Warren enjoyed making sugar cookies, playing cards, and bowling in the Women's Bowling League.
Mrs. Warren loved her church family and was a very active lifetime member of Brownstown Christian Church, where she served in various roles.
Born on July 8, 1938, in Houston, she was the daughter of Claude and Dorothy Knapp Bowman, both of whom preceded her in death. On May 31, 1957, at Norman Christian Church, she married James Leroy Warren, and he preceded her in death on March 6, 2012.
Survivors include three sons: Dave (Pam) Warren of Brownstown, Greg (Penny) Warren of Vallonia, and Mike (Sandra) Warren of Vallonia; one daughter, Dotti (Donald) Conrad of Brownstown; grandchildren: Kasee (Chris) Lambring, Toni (Adam) Myers, Jami (Ralph) Melbourne, Kyle (Julie) Warren, Hope (Steve) Cissna, Alicia (Kyle) McCrary, Amanda (Jaret) Terrell, Kara (Roxann) Koopman, Luke (Meghan) Warren, Allie Warren, Jade Conrad, and Caitlin (Luke) Nolting; great-grandchildren: Noah Lambring, Elliot Lambring, Miles Lambring, Eli Myers, Parker Myers, Max Myers, Raleigh Melbourne, Emerson Warren, Marley Warren, Landry Warren, Isaiah Sitterding, Matthew Sitterding, Andy Cissna, Nick Cissna, Cole Cissna, Abram McCrary, Easton McCrary, Laura Terrell, Vance Terrell, and Dru Terrell; two brothers: Dale (Nella Coe) Bowman and Doug Bowman; one sister, Mary Jane Fleetwood; brother-in-law, Morris Hanner; and her special caregivers: Ollie, Carolyn, Jeannie, Lisa, and Heather.
Mrs. Warren was also preceded in death by two brothers: Donald Mac Bowman and Dan Bowman; one sister, Linda Hanner; sister-in-law, Doris Bowman; and brother-in-law, Harold Fleetwood.
Pastor Mitchell McIntyre will conduct a private funeral service for Sara Jean Warren at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2020, at Brownstown Christian Church.
Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown.
Memorials may be given to Brownstown Christian Church or donor's choice through Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown.
