Saundra Arlene McKain Cornett, age 79, of Freetown, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2019, at St. Vincent Carmel Hospital, Carmel.
Mrs. Cornett was a member of Brownstown Christian Church, and she attended Freetown Church of Christ. She also taught Sunday School for numerous years.
Saundra worked at Gerrvyn Shoe Factory in Freetown for several years, and was a homemaker. She was passionate about her family and loved spending time with both of her granddaughters. She also loved gardening and flowers.
Born on February 7, 1940, in Seymour, she was the daughter of James and Marietta (Scott) McKain, both of whom preceded her in death. On November 27, 1958, at Freetown Church of Christ, with Marion Ellis officiating, she married Ronald L. Cornett and he survives in Freetown.
Survivors also include one daughter, Robin (David) Perry of Freetown; one brother, Danny (Judy) McKain of Freetown; two granddaughters: Jaelyn Perry of Seymour, and Carly Perry of Freetown; and a sister-in-law, Marsha (Tony) Mowdy of Freetown.
Saundra was also preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Patsy McKain.
Funeral services for Saundra Arlene Cornett will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, with Pastor Mitchell McIntyre officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 noon at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Freetown Cemetery.
