Sharon Gayle (Brock) Gray, age 73, of Brownstown, passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2021, at Columbus Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born on June 19, 1948, in Harlan, Kentucky, Gayle was the daughter of Charles Walter, Sr. and Leopha Fee Brock, both of whom preceded her in death. On October 29, 1967, at Brownstown United Methodist Church, she married Thomas "Tom" Carl Gray and he preceded her in death on October 2, 2016. Mrs. Gray attended The Tabernacle, Seymour. Gayle had a strong faith, and she and her husband, Tom, worked diligently over the years in the Sunday School ministry, playing musical instruments, singing praise, and driving the church bus. Mrs. Gray and her husband, Tom, were owners of Brock's Restaurant, which was started by her parents in 1952. Gayle cherished her family and loved spending time with them. She also enjoyed watching Nascar races and UK basketball. Survivors include three daughters: Angela (Eric) Smith of Commiskey, Belinda (Scott) Bowman of Seymour, and Jennifer (David) Ridlen of Brownstown; one brother, Charles W. (Nancy Duncan) Brock, Jr. of Brownstown; six grandchildren: Morgan (Travis) Waits, Chalen (Esti) Bowman, Bethany Langdon, Hayden (Matthew) Norman, Levi (Cara) Ridlen, and Dakota Ridlen; and four great-grandchildren: Lenora "Nori" Waits, Ella Waits, Zara Bowman, and Vera Bowman. Besides her husband and her parents, Gayle was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Hannah Langdon. Funeral services for Sharon Gayle (Brock) Gray will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, with Rev. Larry Arrowood officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown. Memorials may be given to The Tabernacle Building Fund, Seymour.
