Sheila Ann Stahl, age 75, of Seymour, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Sheila was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church, Seymour, for more than 50 years. She was a member of the Altar Guild and always enjoyed helping serve meals at the church.
Mrs. Stahl was employed at Jackson Elementary School in Seymour for many years. She loved and adored the children at the school, and she was known to many of the students as "Mama".
Sheila loved her family immensely, especially her grandchildren. She was their "Mama", and she enjoyed every moment watching them grow up.
Sheila was a loving and generous lady. She loved people and would do anything to help anybody. She lived by her motto, "do unto others as you would have them do unto you". In addition, Sheila enjoyed cooking, bird watching, and being outside.
Born on August 5, 1948, in Seymour, Sheila was the daughter of Paul and Dorothy (Anderson) Ruddick, both of whom preceded her in death. On October 15, 1967, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Sauers, she married Denver Lee Stahl, and he survives in Seymour.
Survivors also include one son, Denver Lee (Joanne) Stahl, II of Seymour; one daughter, Amy (Jeff) King of Michigan; one brother, Randy (Tina) Ruddick; four sisters: Pauline (Mike) Wright, Cindy (Larry) Galbraith, Pam (Gary) Ruddick-Heck, and Kimberly Brewer; and 13 grandchildren: Nissa Nakajima (Daisaku), Sydney Stahl, Sophia Stahl, Saige Stahl, Levi Stahl, Zane Stahl, Eli King, Zeke King, Isaac King, Bella King, Jenna O'Neal, Josh O'Neal, and Jorja O'Neal.
Funeral services for Sheila Ann Stahl will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 2, 2023, at Zion Lutheran Church, Seymour, with Pastor Jeffrey Stuckwisch and Pastor Bradley Akey officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 2, 2023, at Zion Lutheran Church.
Interment will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Seymour.
Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association.
