Tasha Abbigail Maxie, age 51, of Brownstown, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2025, at I.U. Health Methodist, Indianapolis, surrounded by her loving family.
Tasha was a baptized and faithful member of Freetown Church of Christ. She and her husband, Wes, also worshipped at Tampico Christian Church, reflecting her strong faith in God.
Tasha deeply loved her family and had great affection for others, especially children. She was a "world-class" mom, who truly enjoyed caring for kids. As a loving and nurturing babysitter, "Tashy" made every child feel loved, special, and cherished. Her kindness, patience, and gentle spirit left a lasting impression on every child she cared for.
Tasha was a genuinely kind-hearted soul, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She found joy in simple pleasures like mowing, hiking, and taking walks, and especially loved riding horses with her family. She also had a passion for watching the beauty of the sunrise each morning as a way to begin a new day.
Born on April 12, 1974, in Columbus, Tasha was the daughter of Terry and Judy (Greathouse) Anderson. Her mother preceded her in death, and her father survives in Freetown. On August 13, 1994, at Freetown Church of Christ, she married Wesley Barton Maxie, and he survives in Brownstown.
Survivors also include one son, Ty (Taylor) Maxie of Charleston, South Carolina; one daughter, Katherine Maxie of Brownstown; two brothers: Terry (Lisa Acton) Anderson, II of Freetown, and Todd Anderson of Freetown; one sister, Melissa (Erich) Snyder of Seymour; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bart and Donna Maxie of Crothersville; two sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Jodie (Reed) Dunn and Julie (Jonathan) Isaacs; and many nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.
Tasha was also preceded in death by two nephews: Lance Anderson and Terry Anderson, III.
Funeral services for Tasha Abbigail Maxie will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Freetown Church of Christ. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Freetown Church of Christ.
Interment will follow at Freetown Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Freetown Church of Christ, Tampico Christian Church or Team Expansion.
