Thomas "Tom" G. Garriott

Thomas "Tom" G. Garriott, age 87, of Seymour, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany.
Mr. Garriott attended Olive Branch Baptist Church for many years.
Tom served in the United States Army throughout the 1950s and worked at Cummins Engine Co. during the 1990s.
He had a deep love for his family and cherished the time spent with them. Tom also enjoyed food, coon hunting, playing and listening to music, and hunting for treasures at yard sales. Additionally, he had a strong passion for tinkering with lawn mowers and other small engines.
Born on March 23, 1937, at his home in Crothersville, Tom was the son of Robert and Mary (Bridgewater) Garriott, both of whom preceded him in death. On April 29, 1958, he married Elsie Motsinger, and she preceded him in death on June 30, 2018.
Survivors include two sons: Arnold (Peggy) Carmack of Seymour, and Bryan Garriott of Seymour; one daughter, Barbara (Joe) McElfresh of Freetown; one brother, Paul Garriott; 8 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Tom was also preceded in death by three sons: Donald Carmack, Brenton Garriott, and Bobby Garriott; one sister, Louise Sanders; sister-in-law, Francis Garriott; and brother-in-law, Jr. Sanders.
Graveside services for Thomas "Tom" G. Garriott will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison.
Memorials may be given to Anchor House in Seymour.
