William Joe Carmichael, age 63, of Seymour, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2019, at his residence surrounded by his family.
Mr. Carmichael was a material handler at Aisin for many years. He was a hard worker, and loved spending time with his family. His family was his life.
Born on May 7, 1956, in Seymour, he was the son of Harvey Ester and Lillie Neal Carmichael, both of whom preceded him in death. On June 13, 1978, in Salem, he married Connie Baker and she survives in Seymour.
Survivors also include one son, Eric Carmichael of Seymour; one daughter, Shannon (Mark) Luckey of Seymour; one brother, Johnny Carmichael of Brownstown; two sisters: Kathy (Ray) Dyas of Brownstown, and Alberta Horton of Norman; mother-in-law, Leona Baker; and Krislynn Minton, whom William thought of as his granddaughter.
Besides his parents, William was also preceded in death by one brother, Harvey "Eugene" Ehringer; three sisters: Karen Carmichael, Roberta Carmichael, and Shirley Mae Carmichael; and brother-in-law, John Horton.
Funeral services for William Joe Carmichael will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, with Reverend James Carmichael, Reverend Dennis Allman, and Reverend Dennis Allman, II officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 24, 2019, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Houston Cemetery, Norman.
