Willis W. Weddell, age 70, of Centerpoint, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 22, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on July 7, 1956, Willis was the son of the late Willis H. and Georgia (Chaney) Weddell.
Willis graduated from Brownstown High School in 1974, and on December 21, 1974, he married the love of his life, Vickie Kellermeier. Willis was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and faithful friend, whose greatest joy was the family he built over the past fifty years.
Willis is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Vickie Weddell; two daughters: Olivia Nguyen (Lom) and Courtney Duncan (DJ); son-in-law, Joel Harris, husband of his late daughter, Stephanie; six cherished grandchildren: Jacob Murphy, Madison Murphy, Kimberly Lee (Matthew), Galen Cessor, Hannah Harris, and Ethan Harris, all who were a constant source of pride and joy; three sisters: Esta Cross (Russ), Mary Quillen, and Martha Weddell; and many extended family members, nieces, nephews, and dear friends, who will miss him greatly.
Willis was preceded in death by a beloved daughter, Stephanie Harris; three sisters: Janet Conrey, Ruth Weddell, and Brenda Weddell; and a nephew, David Abel.
Throughout his life, Willis had a deep love for music. He enjoyed playing the guitar and treasured gathering with family to make music together with anyone who could play an instrument or sing. Home was his favorite place to be, where he found joy in tending his garden, working in the yard, and simply spending time outdoors. Professionally, he dedicated his entire adult life to the paper bag industry, building a successful career through hard work and determination. Over the years, he steadily worked his way up the ladder before retiring, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, perseverance, and integrity.
“Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord.” — Matthew 25:23.
The family gratefully appreciates the love, prayers, and support extended to them during this difficult time.
