Serving Seymour, Indiana

As the largest city in Jackson County, Seymour is home to many of the families we serve. Our funeral home is about 15 minutes west of Seymour on US 50, and our ties to the city run deep.

Owner Luke Nolting is a Seymour High School graduate and a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour, and funeral director Clint Hackman also serves with the Seymour Fire Department. Explore our dedicated Seymour pages to learn more.

Jackson County Communities We Serve

Every community in Jackson County has its own character, its own churches, and its own traditions. We are proud to serve them all, including:

Brownstown, Indiana

Brownstown has been our home since 1944, and our funeral home on East Commerce Street has welcomed families since the Spurgeon family built it in 1956. As the Jackson County seat, Brownstown sits at the center of the communities we serve, and many of the families who walk through our doors are friends we have known for generations.

Kurtz, Indiana

Our story began in Kurtz, where T.A. Spurgeon founded the funeral home almost 125 years ago. We still feel a special connection to the families of Kurtz and the surrounding countryside, and we are honored to continue caring for them today.

Medora, Indiana

Medora is home to the Medora Covered Bridge, the longest historic covered bridge in the nation, which has stretched across the East Fork of the White River since 1875. We are glad to arrange visitations and services for Medora families at their church, at the graveside, or in our Brownstown chapel.

Vallonia, Indiana

Known for its pioneer roots at Fort Vallonia and the annual Fort Vallonia Days festival, Vallonia is a close community with a proud sense of history. Our team serves Vallonia families with the same personal attention we give to every neighbor.

Crothersville, Indiana

In the southern part of Jackson County, Crothersville families can count on our funeral directors to come to them, whether that means meeting at home to make arrangements or holding a service at a church in town.

Freetown, Indiana

Families in Freetown and the northwestern part of the county are part of the Spurgeon family of neighbors. We are available day or night to help with funeral and cremation arrangements, wherever is most comfortable for you.

Rockford, Indiana

Just north of Seymour, Rockford families often choose to hold services close to home. We are happy to travel to you and coordinate every detail with your church or chosen location.

Cortland, Indiana

For the families of Cortland, we offer the guidance and care of a locally owned funeral home that understands the rural traditions of Jackson County.

Dudleytown, Indiana

Dudleytown is home to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, where members of our own staff worship. We feel deeply connected to this community and are proud to serve the families who call it home.

Sauers, Indiana

Sauers families have known our staff for decades, and several members of our team grew up worshiping at St. John's Lutheran Church in Sauers. We are honored to care for this community as neighbors and friends.
